The American Catholic Union, in cooperation with Dry Bones Press, is developing a directory of Old Catholic, Independent Catholic, Continuing Anglican, and Autocephalous Orthodox denominations and parishes. The mission of the Independent Catholic Seeker’s Directory is to help you build your parish by helping Catholic seekers find you.

The Catholic Seekers' Directory will be published as a cutting-edge "print on demand" book, manufactured by Ingram Book Company's Lightning Print short run process. It will be perfect bound, with a glossy color cover. Better still, because Lightning Print manufactures books in very small runs, the Directory will be updated frequently--at least quarterly, and perhaps even monthly if necessary.

There is no charge for being listed in the directory. All we ask is that your parish represent itself accurately, and be in truth a Catholic parish in the larger sense: upholding Trinitarian Baptism and the teachings of the great Creeds and Councils of the Ancient Undivided Church.

Notes on the Questionnaire

• On the Sacraments: Many independent Catholic denominations are "full sacrament" communities, in that they welcome all baptised Catholics to full participation in their liturgies and sacraments, especially Holy Communion. Others, however, reserve the sacraments for members of their denomination, while welcoming all baptised Catholics to Mass and prayer side-by-side with their members. We call these "welcoming communities." Please be sure to indicate which category describes your parish by checking the correct button!
• On distinctives: Many communities in the independent Catholic world have adopted ethnic affiliations (Polish and Celtic are the most common) and nearly all have taken positions on volatile issues like contraception and women's orders. Many seekers are looking for a community that aligns with their consciences in these areas, so please help by indicating what you consider your community's distinctives. This is also a good place to (briefly!) describe your community's missions. Many seekers are looking for an opportunity to serve Christ's people in need!
