Old Catholics

Who we are

Old Catholics are a body of Christians committed to the Person of Jesus Christ and His teaching. We accept and believe the testimony of His Apostles, eyewitnesses of His Life, Death and Resurrection from among the dead. They passed on to succeeding generations their own testimony about Jesus and His life. By proclaiming of His Gospel and the giving of their own testimony (called the Apostolic Tradition), the Church which the Lord instituted was built up. Old Catholics are an historic part of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and have their origins in the Ancient Catholic Church of the Netherlands.

What is the ACU?

The ACU is a clericus ("kler-ee-koos"), an association of independent (Old) Catholic priests, organized as a California non-profit, tax-exempt religious corporation, with IRS 501(c)(3) status, for the purpose of furthering the work of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We are open to brotherly cooperation with other churches and associations with similar aims and dedication. We are also dedicated to providing our expertise in organization and computer technology to other Old and Independent Catholic jurisdictions who need and want them. By working together, we can make the ideal of "One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church" come true.
